FTTH Solutions
PacketFront's solution for Fiber-To-The-Home is based on our proven FTTH technology, which has been installed in numerous successful broadband networks around the world. All of PacketFront’s products include purpose-built functionality to control triple-play services, with special focus on TV - the most complex service currently being deployed. The capability of controlling each service separately is what differentiates PacketFront’s solution and allows both tailored service definition, as well as multiple service providers to be present in any network.
The FTTH portfolio consists of the following hardware products.
ASR 5000 series of Layer 3 access switches for high-capacity FTTH access, and cost efficient aggregation of low bandwidth access technologies such as WiFi, WiMAX, etc.
MetroStar 3000 family series of high performance Layer 2+ with Gigabit service switch for large scale Gigabit-to-the-Home access.
Service Engine series of service-enforcing routers, enables the deployment of consistent services across multiple access technologies. Service Engine aggregates access technologies such as xDSL DSLAMs, PON, Ethernet over coax, and wireless devices and is intended for central office installations.
PacketFront has a large portfolio of Customer Premises Equipment (DRG). The DRG CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) series comprises end-user equipment for triple-play services. It consists of the Digital Residential Gateways (DRG) series which is offered in several designs and with different functionality to fulfill the various end-user and network operator needs.
Adjacent to the hardware products, the FTTH portfolio is completed with the PacketFront software suit - the software products BBE and BECS. BECS is PacketFront’s provisioning and control system and BBE is the broadband business engine which efficiently handles all business processes in a broadband network.
