Broadband Routers and Switches

PacketFront's ASR (Advanced Services Router) series of broadband routers is one important part of the automated broadband solution. Being the policy enforcement point in the broadband networks the ASRs efficiently deliver triple-play services to the end-users through fiber or CAT5 copper connections.

Our broadband routers are purpose-built for open access environments. These are networks where multiple service providers deliver services to the end-users through one shared infrastructure, and the end-users have the flexibility to select the services from any service provider of their choice. The capability to treat each service from each service provider separately becomes essential in such networks. The ASRs have this capability, and parameters such as bandwidth, priority, security, and QoS can be set per individual service, independently if the services are delivered from the same port on the ASR.

The Service Engine series of service-enforcing routers enable the deployment of consistent services across multiple access technologies. The Service Engine aggregates access technologies such as xDSL DSLAMs, PON, Ethernet over coax, and wireless devices and is intended for central office installations.

The MetroStar 3000 is our Gigabit Ethernet switch which is designed for broadband networks. The MetroStar 3000 fulfills all common features expected from a Layer 2+ switch.
